SUBMERGED ADAPTIVE FESTIVAL- BRINGING ADAPTIVE DIVING CERTIFICATION, SPORTS AND COMMUNITY INTO ONE ACTION PACKED EVENT.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Indigo Industries and Midwest School of Diving presents the first annual SUBMERGED Adaptive Festival, June 10 - 14th in Midway/Park City, Utah. This festival brings (HSA) adaptive diver certification for trainers and divers as well as adaptive: diving, mountain biking, rock climbing, rock crawling and even adaptive ice hockey into one fun exciting festival. Meet Paul de Gelder, host of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, author and shark advocate. Hang out with other adaptive divers, athletes and buddies from around the US and meet with manufacturers of adaptive products that help free those with physical challenges. This event will be action packed, one-of-a-kind experience that will be unforgettable.
The week is set up in two segments;
June 10,11,12 – Adaptive Diving Certifications from Handicapped Scuba Association (HSA) - The weeks kicks off the HSA Founder Jim Gatacre certification days which include 1 classroom, 1 pool day and open dive certification at the Homestead Crater.
June 12, 13, 14 – Adaptive Festival Activity days.
Adaptive Festival begins with a Friday night BBQ with special guest speakers. Saturday and Sunday include diving, mountain biking, rock climbing, rock crawling and ice hockey. The event will include adaptive product companies displaying the latest in innovative technology, adaptive sport equipment and organizations. The adaptive festival is set up to accommodate adaptive individuals plus their buddies. Adaptive and non-adaptive equipment will be available.
The evening of Saturday night will include in intimate dinner with special guest Paul de Gelder delivering an inspiring message to participants. Other guest speakers throughout week include Hack Albertson – VP at Paralyzed Veterans of American, Todd Kemery - VP of Paralyzed Veterans of America, MN chapter, Quadriplegia and Dr. Alex Senk- director of sports medicine at VA hospital in MN (tentative).
